New on DVD: Zeéeeee, Tron, Jack, and Swans Hangin' On

Just out on DVD: Casino Jack, Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I Love You Philip Morris, Little Fockers, The Tacqwacores, Tron Legacy and the final season of Friday Night Lights (yes! can't wait).

Which went on your queue immediately?

And finally, I kid you not, "The Renée Zellweger Collection" has hit stores. I always find these three-pack "collections" so bizarre as they're usually highly unrepresentative of someone's career. The films featured in this one are ME MYSELF AND IRENE, DOWN WITH LOVE, and MY ONE AND ONLY. I guess Down With Love is totally "a Renée Zelwegger picture" but the other two? Well, I haven't seen My One and Only so I shouldn't say that. Have you?

P.S. I like Down With Love. Fun movie. I like Peyton Reed so much but his career doesn't seem to be happening in the way I'd hoped post Bring It On (2000). Sigh.

Meanwhile, Black Swan which came out last week on DVD is still trying to hold on to our collective psyche by launching midnight screenings hosted by famous queens.

Shequida and Manila Luzon (one of my favorite girls on RuPaul's Drag Race) hosted the event which got the crowd dancing here in NYC.

Events were hosted at midnight in Los Angeles (there's the wonderful "Chloe" to your far left -- her YouTube videos sending up Chloë Sevigny as fashion hipster icon are a treat -- with "Rhea Litre"), Chicago (that's Frida Lay as the Black Swan and "Mercedes" as the White Swan) and San Francisco (Heklina and Sister Roma hosted).

Attendees were encouraged to dress up of course.

I totally considered going as my girl Winona in a silver X dress with a nail file protuding from my cheek but alas... my ideas are always bigger than time and my budget can account for.

I loved last night's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race... In it's 3rd season it is still as sharp and exciting as ever! How funny to see Carmen Carrera return only to be eliminated in the same episode? And that Lip Synch for Your Life!!! WOW!!! *HOT HOT HOT* :-)

PS ... I don't think there was anything "Straight" about those jocks they had to transform ;-)

I watched Dawn Treader on a plane. It was painfully dull (and the budget cut showed). I gave up after 45 minutes and switched over to Burlesque. A very good idea.

The title "My One and Only" could easily be applied to the minuscule amount of people who saw it. It's not tragic that it never found an audience, though, since it's pretty mediocre. I only saw it as an assignment, and the press screening was filled with relative shrugs, too. Here's my review:

I agree, those 3 pack collections are so strange .Even when I like the actor, I think, what? I don't think they sell very well - they're bargain bin fodder since they appeal to no-one.

One of the things I like about Down With Love (besides the fashion and the wonderful Sarah Paulson) is that it's a movie where the actors actually know how to move. They have expressive bodies. I love Ewan McGregor's finger snapping swagger - - heavenly.

OMG. CHLOE!!!!!!

I seriously laugh my ass off at those videos.

Who wouldn't want 'Permission to never speak to Jeanne Tripplehorn ever again'?

I would've loved to go to one as Vincent Cassel's character and be a complete bitch/perv to everyone.

and with Down With Love, the one who must not be named has a killer monologue near the end, plus, it ends with a duet with Ewan. amazing.

I was at the LA screening! It was pretty fun, but the audience was only about 3/4 full and only about 8 people were willing to shout at the screen (including yours truly). Though I'm glad it existed and the gift bag they gave was pretty sweet. I also dressed as the Black Swan and made my friend be the White Swan.

I SOOOO would've dressed up as Noni in the silver X dress. Or as Mama Sears and haul around a sparkling pink cake or something and ask people to celebrate with me. If they refused... 'Well, then, I guess it's TRASH.'
