April Showers Bring May Flowers. (Plus: More Film Bitch Nominees)

As illustrated by that pocketful of sunshine, Emma Stone.

April Showers: American History X (1998), How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1999), South Pacific (1958), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), The Long Good Friday (1980), Groundhog Day (1993), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), The Hurt Locker (2009), I Robot (2004), Single White Female (1992), The Fifth Element (1997) and Shutter Island (2010).

May Flowers: Weekdays at noon. Any suggestions?

oh, okay, okay. I know we can't end without actually watching Emma doing "Pocketful of Sunshine" again. If the entirety of Easy A had been as great as this post-credits opening scene, the movie would have been an A+

P.S. This one-minute delight is nominated in the 2010 FiLM BiTCH Awards for Best Musical Number from a Non-Musical Film. Here's that last page of honorees in progress. Almost finished. Sorry for that weirdly protracted hiatus.

what a delight Emma Stone is. Looking forward to a brilliant career.

Whenever I'm in a bad mood, I watch the Pocket Full Of Sunshine clip, the Spell it with your Peas clip, and the Fully Supportive clip from Easy A. Patricla Clarkson and Stanley Tucci should be forced to play the parents of teens in all teen-starring movies. It guarantees one watchable element.

I just saw this for the first time the other day...wow! I was worried the film and Emma's performance were overhyped... but she and the film were awesome...seriously a starmaking role for Emma. Can't wait for Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Help!

For May Flowers you have to do On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. That movie always makes me want to garden.

yay! cannot wait for the FB best scenes!

She looks like Joan Cusack in that first picture. And a little like Mila Kunis in the second. I've never seen this movie. I guess I should.

Nate, if those indeed are your Best Ending nominees, then you absolutely NAILED them. *round of applause*

Ugh @ Easy A for not being as good as Emma Stone. Where's Mark Waters and Tina Fey when you really need them?

Watched the House Bunny on TV, and can't believe that Emma Stone is in it! She was as good as Anna Faris (who's very good as well). They should partner up and do another comedy together!

Those scenes in Bright Star with the lavender field and Ben Whishaw atop the tree were great.

Not to hijack this post but--

Nate, I had no idea where to post this as there are no Drag Race/queens related posts lately and I feel it is of the ~utmost importance~ you be made aware of this flawlessness since I know you're a fan of a) amazing fan-made artwork and b) RuPaul's Drag Race. They can be filed under Curios, of sorts, I suppose.

Drag. Race. Art. Work.

May Flowers - does American Beauty count? More petals than flowers, I admit.

I'm sorry, but Emma Stone is so over the top in that movie. She does nothing for me. Don't get what all the fuss is about.
