Super 6
Blackbook Elle Fanning, currently collecting hordes of new fans for Super 8, mugs it up for the camera.
Mashable turn your summer tweets into movie trailer voiceovers. This is great. The offer ends June 17th.
Telegraph We love Tim Robey but we feel the jealousy that he got to speak with François Ozon about reinventing Catherine Deneuve for Potiche.
NerdCore "the internet is coming" this made me LOL. Regarding: Shelley Duvall. How weird would it be if one expression you made in a movie that one time was so iconic that people riffed on it for the next 30 years?
Ty Cullen "Hey you. What song are you listening to?"
Finally... Backstage Magazine covers "5 Actors Who Have Had An Emmy-Worthy Year" and they are...
Margo Martindale from Justified (I should say up front that I've never seen this show, though I generally like her work -- Million Dollar Baby notwithstanding), our beloved Connie Britton from Friday Night Lights, our beloved Christina Hendricks from Mad Men, and super popular gays-playing-gays-to-awards-attention (finally no longer a novel concept! God that took forever)... Chris Colfer from Glee and Jesse Tyler Ferguson from Modern Family. Christina & Connie share stories about nomination-morning disbelief and Margo offers this d'oh bit about her initial nonchalance about Justified.
my agent called and said, "Would you like to audition for 'Justified'?" I said, "What's that?... What's the part?" He said, "It's a Kentucky drug matriarch." And I said, "Well, can't he just look at my reel?" [Laughs.]
I bet that's happened a million times to actors with what later turned out to be signature roles. The Emmy nominations are still 100 years away... longest crawl towards nominations ever. Which of those five do you think will get the happy call on July 14th?

Probably all but Jesse. Love him, but comedy supporting actor is just too crowded.
Jin -- hmmm. or Modern Family might just usurp it all? Plus I think Jesse was much stronger this season. They've really unlocked the funny in him and Bowen ... who at first seemed liked the "straight men" of the ensemble rather than the funny bones, you know.
Maybe Kiernan Shipka making it in over Christina Hendricks.
I hope and pray that Connie Britton gets something. I honestly can't think of a more naturalistic and affecting performance on TV in years. And I'm including Elisabeth Moss in Mad Men. Mind you, if there was a breakout character from Glee this year it wasn't Kurt (Chris Colfer was excellent, and I find the storyline worthwhile, but Kurt has effectively been turned into a saint this season, which meant the character appeared more one note than last year), it was Naya Rivera as Santana.
Four out of these five were nominated last year, so I think the people who should be campaigned are people who have been overlooked before. What about Ed O'Neill in Modern Family? He was the only member of the cast not nominated last year and he is often a standout. Or Naya Rivera, who stole almost every scene she was in last year on Glee and deserves a nomination way more than Jane Lynch this year (not entirely her fault, her character has been given ridiculous material). Also, from Mad Men, Kiernan Shipka, Jarred Harris, Vincent Kartheiser and even though he's been nominated every year of the show, I want John Slattery to win this year (his work was outstanding his year in particular). Also, the cast of Community, particularly Danny Pudi as Abed, and from The Good Wife I would love to see Josh Charles nominated this year (Nat, they really stepped up their game in the second season of that show and it's outstanding, you should watch it). And, yes, I do agreethat Jesse Tyler Ferguson is still outstanding on Modern Family and I would love to see him nominated again. The one I really don't want happening this year is Glee winning outstanding Comedy Series. It does not deserve it this year for such an annoyingly uneven second season (Modern Family again, please!!!)
I agree that Naya Rivera deserves to be nominated much more than Jane Lynch this year; not Lynch's fault, she was good with what she was given, but Sue Sylvester has becoming increasingly irrelevant to the show, while Santana became increasing central (and is, as the Onion AV Club reviewer noted, much more logically positioned to act as an antagonist than Sue is). Rivera consistently managed to balance being touching and being mean/funny.
I have no wish to watch 4 of those 5 shows, and even Mad Men didn't really catch on with me.. I'm happy with my 30 Rock and Damages.
What I do wish to watch very often, however, is the Alexander Payne short in Paris, je t'aime with Margo. Was that great or was that great.
I agree with most of what's already been said, I think the five will end up nominated...
Yes, that comedy supporting actor category is very crowed, between the men of MODERN FAMILY, COLFER and PATRICK HARRIS it is a shame that most likely PUDI from COMMUNITY and all the men from PARKS & RECREATION will not be nominated.
I'm so happy to find out that I'm not alone in the thought that NAYA RIVERA was the breakout actor in this season of GLEE, LYNCH is great but RIVERA was even better this season and I would go as far as to declare that most of the time she was better than COLFER as well.
honestly, Naya rivera is my prime reason to watch the show. Just love the character, she's just so great as Santana. Just felt like adding to the applause.
"Justified" is the BOMB. Seriously, the show, Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins, and Margo Martindale all deserve nods.
Yes, I also agree with you: all five are probably going to be nominated.
Nathaniel, I strongly advise you to watch JUSTIFIED. This second season was on MAD MEN-quality level, and I honestly believe it's one of the best dramas out there, alongside Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Friday Night Lights, Southland, Treme and The Good Wife.
Margo Martindale was fantastic and she is, in fact, my #1 in my personal ballot - although I think she'll have a difficult struggle to get nominated, as she has to battle it out in a very crowded category (see also: Regina King).
The rest of them will get nominated and CHRIS COLFER will win. I don't like his role that much on Glee but he'll submit the episode in which he sings to his father who is a laughfest as well as a cryfest therefore there's your winner (Emmys love DRAMA in their comedies - just check out their last Best Actress winners).
Christina Hendricks has no shot in hell of winning. Kiernan Shipka was better than her this season and ARCHIE PANJABI has her second win in a row in the bag. It's that simple. If they gave her the prize for the episode she submitted last year, just imagine the level of praise she'll get for the episode in which she's confronted by Alicia. Awesome stuff.
Sorry for writing so much... One last thing: my Emmy wish? 'Justified' and 'Friday Night Lights' nominated for Best Drama; Jon Hamm finally winning his Emmy.
I'm planning to catch Justified this summer just to enjoy Margo's performance.
I think she's brilliant! She strongly reminds me of Maureen Stapleton and that is always great.
Margo Martindale deserves the award this year. Hands f-ing down.
As much as I love Jesse Tyler Ferguson, I don't see a nomination happening. Colfer is a shoo-in, and I bet Ferguson will be crowded out by his co-stars this year. His character just isn't "outlandish-funny" in the same way that Phil and Cam are.
Regarding the Ed O'Neill question: I think that many regarded his omission last year as an embarrassment. This should work in his favor this year; in fact, I'd argue he's guaranteed a nomination just as surely as Colfer and Stonestreet.
I'm going to have to seek out Justified now (is it on Netflix?) As MDB was the only Margo Martindale performance I haven't loved, I blame Clint entirely.
I think it would be really cool if Kunal Nayyar or Simon Helberg from The Big Bang Theory were nominated for Supporting Actor In A Comedy, or if the show was nominated for Best Comedy Series. I think Mike O'Malley should be nominated for his performance as Kurt's dad in Glee, and it would be good if the show Parenthood got some nominations this year :)
Jan, Margo Martindale's performance in "Paris, Je t'aime" is magical. I watch it at least once every couple of months on Youtube. What a beautiful tribute to the city.
Evan - It really is better to watch that short on its own, without having to sit through all the other ones before it. I mean, a few of them were quite good, but none came close to Payne's.
I just read an interview with Margo from February where she says it's also her favorite thing she's ever done: http://www.avclub.com/articles/margo-martindale,51551/
