Nicole Kidman Sends Us A Message
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 8:39PM
It's not every day that one of the world's best records a wee message for fans. This was obviously recorded to arrive in time for my birthday celebration. By "fans" she meant "The Film Experience Community". OBVIOUSLY ;) Only she forgot to say "thanks for Moulin Rouge! week"
... don't you love the "I'm shy" part?

Love her!
Nat, when was it exactly when you turned the corner from backhanded appreciation ("does she ever sleep??" circa 2005) to out-and-out love? Just curious. Did she just wear you down? ; )
Adam -- I loved her since 2001. I just got worn out by the ubiquity by 2005. so it was back to love with "Margot" ;) as you may have noticed I don't like it when ANYONE is in every movie. It always results in them being cast in roles they aren't right for. see: meryl streep and all young 20somethings that have a big year and then get cast in 10 things the following year.
Nat I was going to bring this to your attention - she has a link on her facebook page to her official website (which is supposed to be her UNIFEM website, I guess) that she's hosting discussions of one film a month - this month happens to be Birth.
Sometimes when a celebrity says something like "thank you to the fans" I wonder who are they?and, he/she has fans? But this video is so personal, I felt like if she was talking to me, so, You're welcome Nicole!
It is embarrassing how much I love her...I braved Bewitched for that woman. Multiple times.
PS in the spirit of Moulin Rouge week, you should really check out the bluray of Moulin Rouge. There is a picture within picture commentary on it that is to die for. Rare rehearsal footage, on the set coverage, costume tests. Incredible.
Wow great stuff, you're right seemed like she was talking to us,very genuine, shame she had to do that to her lips, still a cool girl though!!!
I dare say btw that this may have been inspired by her husband? I'm not a member of his fanclub but I know a lot of people who are, and he has been posting videos like this on his website for years, oftentimes right before or right after a concert, a major event (such as coming back from rehab.) He has certainly been savvy to the internet for much longer than she has (appeared to be.) Of course country music performers have had a much more intimate relationship with fans way before the days of the internet, certainly much more so than the "arms-length-and-then-some-stay-behind-the-rope" relationship of "Hollywood stars" and their fans.
" ... don't you love the "I'm shy" part? "
No. Because it seems fake. Sorry, but I don't believe her this shyness. It seems to be her attitude.
Her face. It doesn't move. Sadness.
