Good Morning. Happy News!

It's a pancake version of DRIVE's scorpion jacket, see?! No? Okay an Alien face-hugger? Humor me.No, no. Stop salivating. It's not another announcement that I've made pancakes in the shape of movie whatsits. The happy news is that tomorrow afternoon there will be an Emergency Podcast Broadcast. What emergency, you ask? The Oscar nominations, silly... 22 hours and counting!

Tuesday is Christmas morning for Nick and I, don't you know. We'll be here to discuss. Possibly with another guest.

I  ♥  this time of year hard. You read lots of web griping that awards season is too torturously long. Oh please. Punish me with red carpets and star sighting and predictions and list-making!!! I don't need a safe word.

The only part of awards season that is reliably awful is the mad rush of movies, more than anyone can possibly see, all in the space of a two week period and the weird fatigue that can set in as a result when you realize you won't be able to see, think about, write about, or revisit everything you'd like to before you have to move on to the next thing and then the next and the next. It's like running a 26 mile marathon with only one stop wherein they may hand you repleneshing treats and juices. Or attending a wedding where the flower girls drop all the petals in one square inch of the aisle. Or... okay I'll stop now.

Seems like you were pretty close with the Best Actress predictions back in your April Foolish Predictions. But I couldn't find your whole predictions chart from way back then.

I just noticed that the first seven of your predicted Best Picture nominees, although arranged in order of likelihood, also happen to be in perfect alphabetical order. Which means that if there are seven nominees or fewer, and you're 100% right, that's exactly how they will be read tomorrow morning.

I noticed that as well J.P.! But hear this: not only won't we know the number of Best Picture nominees ahead of time, they won't be read by alphabetical order (cry!).

Pulling for any nominations for "Drive" tomorrow. BTW, you look adorable with that pancake Nate. :-)

Also, just saw "The Artist" Friday; great film. I'm still thinking about it Monday morning.

Another podcast and so soon!!

I assume Katey and Joe won't be available so can I make some suggestions?
Here we go:

JA from MNPP
Viola Davis
Meryl Streep
Woody Allen

I hope they can all participate but even one of them would be great. ;)

Honestly, my initial reaction was that you finally cracked under the Oscar season pressure and made a Human Centipede 2 pancake. I was much relieved upon reading the caption.

Sweet. We are undeserving of all these podcasts! So great.

I'm more anxious to know the Film Bitch Nominations. Btw, where can I see past winners and nominees from your awards? I can only check from 2009 and 2010, what about the rest?

I absolutely hate my Mondays, so the only thing getting me through today is knowing that tomorrow are the Oscar nominations.

And I'm with Carl, I used to enjoy reading your old Oscar predictions and your film bitch awards, and I've asked before, but are you ever going to post them somewhere or something? You need your own wiki page for it or something. lol
