If we stare at Meryl's magnificent flag dress long enough...

...will it finally be Election Day?

We can only hope!

I'd vote for her.

I wish it was Streep X Trump...

I'm going negative:
(Ominous voice)
"Meryl wants to represent us by wearing a American flag dress (and looking fantastic); but look closely, you'll see it's just an American Flag button-up shirt (but still looking great). What else is she misrepresenting? Meryl Streep wrong on syntax, wrong for America"

This message is approved by the "This Argument Is as Good and as Meaningful as Most the Election Coverage" committee

If she was running for president, you goddamn right I would vote for her. She would know what to do with this country. Better in the hands of someone who is a true patriot instead of 2 assholes who are just a bunch of rich, entitled fuckheads.

It's been a rocky election campaign, but her introduction of the soon to be first woman President
stands as a high point. I hope everyone who can exercises their right to vote, and soon the words "Madam President" will be fact not fiction.

I am with HER!

Nah, this reminds me of The Manchurian Candidate.

Meryl is receiving the Cecil B. De Mille Award this year at the Golden Globes.

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterrick

Can I string her up a flagpole if she gets one more role that Jessica Lange, Sissy Spacek, Glenn Close, Kathleen Turner or Marsha Mason would murderize.

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterbrookesboy

Meryl's getting the DeMille! Yassss Queen! Get Oscar nod #20!

WHEN WILL UR FAVS

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterDorian

@,brooksboy. In your dreams. None you mentioned have it in them anymore...or if they ever did. stereo cannot be called overused. She has made 2 movies in 2yrs. Do not count cameos.

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterrick

OMG!!! Stereo ...stereo... I just bought s new tablet and it is out of control!!!

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterrick

OMG!!! Stereo. not stereo...just bought a new tablet and am out of control!

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterrick

rick, I didn't say she was overused. I said she is getting roles that other women should be getting. And whether they still have it, as you put it, remains to be seen because most of them haven't had a good role in years.

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterbrookesboy

OK. I understand. But why blame Stree.

Your comment about the flagpole is crude...

November 3, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterrick

It's only crude if your mind is made that way.

I'm having too much fun picturing Jessica Lange, Sissy Specek, Glenn Close, Kathleen Turner or Marsha Mason murderize Florence Foster Jenkins role especially when they sing live.

November 4, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterjack

@ Jack that's the way they probably sing..With the exception of Lange,. I really like all the other actresses you mention.

@ brookesboy I think I have toughened reading the entries on this blog in the last year...

I have read this blog since its inception and I really enjoyed the discussion value... now there are some here who are vulgar and downright negative about everything... maybe some of it has rubbed off on me... I have recently thought of not reading this blog any further and trying to find a new one...
