Tweetweek: Aunt May, His & Hers Emmy Nods, Everything Being James Franco's Fault
Readers... I'm back from my critics retreat (which featured such spotty internet that I finally gave up on the internet altogether but the ability to focus without it was kind of amazing -- try it sometime) Regular posting will begin again Monday. Tonight please enjoy this roundup of amusing tweets as I try to catch up on news, emails, and social media. Yours truly, Nathaniel...

I still haven't gotten over the fact (and probably never will) that Elizabeth Taylor's final feature film was The Flintstones. pic.twitter.com/eIp7h2bc0k

Remember, women of Hollywood: If you spend your entire career giving amazing performances, one day you may get to play a superhero's aunt.

I'm oddly emotional about the fact Michelle Pfeiffer, and her husband David E Kelley, both have Emmy nominations this year...... 👏👏👏👏

Kristen and Melissa in Guest Actress
Kate and Leslie in Supporting Actress
All for SNL!
Just amazing and lovely.
That Dunkirk tweet is interesting.
And you know what, I have not been excited at all for Dunkirk so far. So far each of his prior films had to release amidst a HUGE wave of hype. There is something to be said for taking people by surprise and not having to fight the buzz. Lest we forget, Nolan can create something quite special. Fingers crossed for this one.
ok, now that tweet has me digging into Dunkirk a little more. A few more promising tidbits that I was not previously following:
> rated PG-13. In in interview Nolan said, "We wanted an intensity not based on horror or gore."
> his shortest film since the following and an hour leaner than Insterstellar
> has little dialogue
I'm intrigued to say the least. I guess I've been underestimating it, though I see Nathaniel has it listed as #2 in his predictions, so maybe it has just been me. At the very least, this may nab Nolan is first directing nomination.
The Flintstones wasn't Liz Taylor's last film. Her last film was a short film where she announced Gladiator as the Golden Globes winner. It was released in cinemas and won the Best Documentary Short oscar. KNOW YOUR HISTORY!
How many strong female performances are in Dunkirk? Asking for an actressexual friend of mine..
I don't want to have to see Dunkirk, dammit! For a director I don't admire, I've sure seen a lot of Nolan movies.
Welcome back to the Web, Nathaniel!
lol @ Glenn
I could watch that a million times.
Well, I'm off to youtube...
Is there a word for gays who don't like Kidman? Asking for a friend.
Heathens.
nice sharing guy, thank you very much

I'd add that William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman have his and hers Emmy nominations for the fifth time! She's actually never been nominated in a year when he wasn't.
That first tweet about the four lady Ghostbusters is probably the most positive press that movie has received this entire year. Praying they use their exquisite talents to develop something original they can do together as opposed to making a lackluster sequel for a movie many didn't want or enjoy in the first place. In a related note, I'm far happier for Vanessa Bayer's nomination than for the autopilot nominations these four ladies received.
