Coming Soon Nicholas Hoult is in talks to play the Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien in a forthcoming biopic. Those unfamiliar with Tolkien but for book jacket photos, Hoult seems like odd casting but the movie will be about his youth and service in World War I (which of course informed his iconic books)

Kathleen Turner at Liberty -- Make it happen Scott Rudin!

Gay twitter has decided that La Bening is winning her first for the Gloria Grahame movie. What do you think? I'm a pesimist.

"But they might not want to harp on and on about "meticulously researched" since we spotted several errors without doing any research at all!"

I mean.... My favorite was when Jack Warner felt he wasn't making enough money from My Fair Lady and really needed a Baby Jane sequel to hit the box-office zenith. When the two movies came out the same Christmas. And My Fair Lady was a colossal hit that dwarfed Baby Jane. But whatev's. I also think de Havilland could afford to chill on this one.

Glenn Close winning an Oscar is so much more important than Annette Benning winning. I guess Annette winning seems a little more likely and thats why people cling to the idea?

My twitter believes it's Annette vs. Glenn or Meryl's 4th.

LOL the way you organized those links I thought you had said that Kathleen Turner would be playing Bobby's character in Company. Now I'm sad that isn't true!!

I am already falling asleep at the thought of that Hoult/Tolkein biopic.

@Glenn - Me too.

That production of "Company" could be really interesting. Good on Sondheim for being open to new interpretations.

I love the idea of a gender-switched Company. The show is my favorite Sondheim and I think it would lend itself well to this twist. I agree that Sondheim is super-cool to be so open to it.
