I think it will also win Best Picture and Best Original Song. I think Cooper would be a very worthy Best Actor winner--his performance was the best part of the film--but I'm not sure that will happen.

@Riley I heard a lot of people talking about his performance before I watched the film and I thought his part was going to be bigger( Bradley didn't want to share his acting triumph with anyone else, not even Lady Gaga :P). However, he makes every second count.
I watched the film yesterday and the only two parts of the film i really enjoyed was the acting and the cinematography. A couple of songs were good but i think that it is more of a music film than a pure musical, like The Rose, so i can see why they chose to compete in Drama. I felt like the film showed only two songs in their entirety. I don't know if it was the editing or the script but something in the rhythm of the film was off.
@Riley: a great performance is a great performance. Period. Take a look at Beatrice Straight in Network for example and tell me that that one scene alone where she confronts Bill Holden isn't worth an Oscar. I mean, if Sir Anthony can win a LEAD statuette for what amounts to less than 20 minutes on-screen time in Silence of the Lambs, why shouldn't Elliott be up for supporting?

As someone who thought the movie had great aspects but did not work overall, I get a little offended by the people who tell me I’m just a hater and have my knives out for it. I thought these film sites were where we can discuss valid film criticisms? I’m sorry I didn’t love it as much as many of you, and I’m not trying to take your love of it away (Heck, I am still rooting for it in several Oscar races.) There are complex in-betweens of loving and hating something!
