"Remember that one, ladies?"

Just passing a love note to Eva Marie Saint for mentioning this dress while presenting the Costume Design Award last night...

Mmmmm North by Northwest ❤️

The highlight of my night (with Frances permission).

What a lovely lady! And what she said about the "old days" and Edith Head was like teaching them the history of Costume Design with a touch of what sexism was all about at the time and how women banded together to "do it [their] own way". Then there was Rita Moreno. Thank God for keeping her with us to enjoy her. And it was great of the Academy to invite them both. But it was not enough.
The presence of Hollywood legends in Oscar's 90th Anniversary was pitiful. Shame on the Academy! To paraphrase Tiffany Haddish "Is Hollywood too diverse?" Yes! Mind you, I mean it only in the sense of my previous comment. They were so preoccupied with #mettoo and with inviting a totally inclusive array of presenters that they forgot to invite those who really built Hollywood. Two sets of elderly presenters more would have sufficed. I don't know. Go through Nat's 200 Oldest Living Screen Stars and you can have your pick. Go to 80 through 90. Ellen Burstyn and Rip Torn, Joanne Woodward and Gene Hackman, there are so many...

I was gagged. I've never seen a classic film star represent herself so well at an Oscar telecast. This is the new gold standard.

Usually these moments leave you wondering "Ehhh, what happened to ____?" with thoughts about plastic surgery, cruel age, cognitive decline or bad lighting. That's no one's fault, really. But it's almost always what we get.

Absolutely everything about her look, delivery, grace, wit, etc. was *spot on.* I'll have what she's having.

What a graceful, beautiful lady. Definitely a highlight of the night.

YES!! Eva Marie Saint was everything and more Kim Novak should've been a few years back presenting :-)

More please!!!

P.S. I cried when James Ivory mentioned Ruth Prawer Jhabvala because I remember when he accepted the Oscar in her behalf for A Room with a View. I was just a kid. Time flies!

P.S. (2) Shirley MacLaine presented. She came out of a spaceship. Bernadette sang and The Turner lost.

If forced to choose, Eva Marie Saint in North By Northwest is my favorite of the Hitchcock Blondes.

Eva Marie Saint exudes class.

Eva Marie Saint is still a beauty and needs to get more appreciation. The embodiment of class.

Marcos, I get what your saying, but they don't need to excise the presenters who make up a more inclusive, diverse panel - just don't invite the completely bland nothingness of Ansel Elgort, for example.

They always invite these young stars to appeal to the younger generation - do they really think people are watching an almost 4 hour program for 2 minutes of Zac Efron when YouTube exists?

This lady is the epitome of glamour and class. Wow, just wow.

Her presence in Exodus is what every actress should aspire to have.

Rebecca, I know what you're saying, but Baby Driver was up for three Oscars, so Ansel had a legit reason to be there. Some of the others--not really at all.
