Beauty vs Beast: Rock Star Wars
Monday, March 4, 2019 at 1:11PM Hello and Happy Monday everybody, Jason from MNPP here with a brand new edition of our weekly "Beauty vs Beast" series, wherein we ask you to take a side between a "good" movie character and a "bad" movie character. With Captain Marvel out this weekend let's glance back at one of our fav Brie Larson roles (one of many -- we always love Brie Larson), her small bit as Scott's own ex Envy Adams in Scott Pilgrim vs The World. We're facing her off with Scott's current paramour Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), which might seem unfair given Ramona's in, you know, basically the entire film and has an arc and all that. But don't count out Brie -- she has the best scene in the film, her kick-ass performance of "Black Sheep," the Metric song. (Watch it here.)
PREVIOUSLY Twas a cake-walk for our favorite Nicky Hoult in last week's Fancy Tuxedo battle from the Oscars -- he black-tied up Joe Alwyn with 77% of your vote. But some people said we shouldn't fight at all, like Peggy Sue, who had the answer we were looking for:
"A threesome."

Brie Larson steals every scene she's in, and pronounces herself as an actress we should all watch here-easy vote for me. Plus, she scored a blond Brandon Routh, and...respect.
As a straight man, whomever wins between Winstead and Larson is a victory for me.
That being said, as much as I love Winstead, she is miscast.
So, I'm Team Envy.
I'm team Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Fargo.
Can we get these two actresses together again?! Preferably in a film that garners Larson another nomination (and Winstead her first)!
Yeah, it is unfair Ramona vs Envy. It should have been Envy vs Knives. My vote goes to Knives <3
Yeah I thought about doing Envy vs Knives instead, but I just can't skip the opportunity when presented to remind the world that MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD EXISTS AND YOU SHOULD BE HIRING HER FOR ALL YOUR MOVIES, ahem :)

Team Envy though I would've gone with Knives Chau!
Brie would have been on my supporting actress list the year this came out. She completely steals any moment she’s on screen and understands the tone of this movie better than anyone. It’s a tightrope of archetype/sexy/funny and she does it perfectly. And she’s got decent pipes to boot!
Larson’s performance of Black Sheep is maybe my favorite scene in the movie. Why isn’t she in more musicals???!
Knives. But to give an actual answer, Im probably Team Envy on this. Her part of the story was hilarious and that mf Ramona Flowers dated WAYYYYY too many supervillains
My favorite Larson performance, and her Black Sherp is outstanding. But nonetheless - Ramona.
Envy didn't cause much of a impression to me, voting for her anyway. And as much as I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers is such an annoying character. I don't like her one bit. Fuck her. Fuck Scott. Team Knives all the way.
