Links: Sadie Sink, Kurt Russell, Jean Smart, and "Giant"

Advocate If you're in LA this weekend note that the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills is showing a restoration of Giant (1956) -- excellent epic with three ridiculously iconic stars (Rock Hudson, Liz Taylor, and James Dean) and meant to be seen on the big screen
Antidote Director Bruce LaBruce interviews Betty Blue herself Béatrice Dalle. Great photoshoot
PrimeTimer all of Jean Smart's Emmy nods, ranked: Hacks, Fargo, Frasier, Watchmen, etc

More after the jump including Kurt Russell's Elvis movie, Sadie Sink on Broadway, and, sadly, more actor deaths to report...

Rick's Reel Life looks back to Kurt Russell's Elvis movie - lots of pics!
Vulture interesting piece on how showrunners and creators are dealing with the lack of info they get about how well they're show is or isnt doing on streaming services
Coming Soon Captain America 4 (starring Anthony Mackie in his promoted role) now has a director

Boy Culture "Ansel Elgort offers nude body as distraction"
• MUBI the lineup for Locarno Film festival's 75th edition includes new films from new films by Helena Wittmann, João Pedro Rodrígues, Aleksandr Sokurov
Teen Vogue Sadie Sink as Annie on Broadway. When everyone was posting this I realized I'd actually seen her in this show. It was the Katie Finneran as Miss Hannigan production. How crazy! Now she's having a huge year with potential Emmy and Oscar nominations incoming if Stranger Things and The Whale please the voters of the Television and Film Academies.

So many deaths of male actors in the past few days. RIP
People Actor Lenny Von Dohlen (Twin Peaks, Electric Dreams, Home Alone III) has died at just 63 after a long illness. I remember loving his hunky nerd in Electric Dreams as a kid. Those blue blue eyes, damn. His co-star Virginia Madsen posted a loving tribute on her Instagram.
/Film Emmy nominated actor Gregory Itzin (24, Big Love, The Mentalist) has died at 74
CNN Emmy nominated actor Larry Storch (F Troop, Hollywood Squares) has died at age 99
AV Club Actor Tony Sirico (The Sopranos, Bullets Over Broadway) has died at age 79
TFE ... and, ICMYI ,our tribute to the legendary James Caan (The Godfather, Misery, The Gambler) where we highlighted ten key films in his long career

Lenny von Dohlen, Larry Storch, Gregory Itzin, and Paulie Walnuts. Damn, this is a bad year.

What a tribute from Virginia Madsen.

Kurt Russell I think nailed the part of Elvis in that TV movie with John Carpenter despite the limitations they had to deal with. Part of it is because Russell got to work with THE KING. There is a great story about Kurt meeting Elvis on YouTube.

Um... could they get someone else to direct Captain America 4? Maybe someone more experienced.

@thevoid99 - Not sure I agree about Marvel needing someone "more experienced" for Captain America 4. If you looked at the filmography of Jon Favreau, James Gunn, Russo brothers before they helmed their respective MCU movies/franchises, they were pretty much in the same level as Julius Onah is right now. I think they did pretty well considering!
