LAST CALL - Do you want a copy of "The Art of Missing Link"?

by Nathaniel R

When Missing Link suffered an ignoble fate at the box office this past spring we worried a bit about its Oscar chances. Not too much mind you, since it's still a welcome visual respite from the all sequels / all CGI world of the major studios. So naturally we've been delighted to share our interview with the director and to see the movie blossom again during precursor season with nominations and citations left and right as it aims for a Best Animated Feature nomination (as well it should).

To celebrate, A CONTEST! Laika has gifted us with some copies of "The Art of Missing Link" and we're passing them out to those lucky souls among you who win. To enter email us with the following...

  1. SUBJECT LINE: "Missing Link"
  2. BODY: Your own very short "Dear Sir" letter telling us anything you want to about why you love Laika or Missing Link or coffee table books or anything really.
  3. FROM: Don't forget to include your name and mailing address so we can send you the book if you win!

Enter by tomorrow morning - actually do it now. Winners will be announced very soon.

#GreatestShowFan Contest

by Nathaniel R

Since a huge chunk of our readership has feelings about movie musicals, I though TFE should share this contest about The Greatest Showman. [Full disclosure: I do freelance work for Show-Score, the company running the contest but I'm not working on this particular thing]

To enter you just tweet or instagram or facebook out a selfie when you're at the movie or on your way to it or whatnot (anything celebratory to show your enthusiasm) and double hashtag it #Sweepstakes and #GreatestShowFan (yes ShowFan not ShowMan). Each day until January 2nd they'll choose 10 winners who'll receive $100 Amazon gift cards.

P.S. If you do enter make sure to watch your social media as...

Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media commenting, social media messaging... If the potential winner does not respond before January 7, 2018 at 11:59pm, the entrant will be disqualified and the prize will go unclaimed.

Contest: mother!

Yes, yes, we know. We talk about mother! a lot. (We've never felt so close to Norman Bates). So herewith a contest just for TFE readers. We're giving away two prizes courtesy of Paramount. The big prize is a combo of the Blu-ray of mother! and a book on the making of. The runner up prize is just the movie itself.

The mother! Blu-ray combo pack (new this week) includes access to a Digital HD copy of the film as well as the feature film in high definition and bonus content like "mother! The Downward Spiral" and "The Makeup FX of mother!" as well as the DVD in standard definition. The book is described like so:

Equal parts visual chronicle and artful scene study, mother! The Making of the Fever Dream recounts Darren Aronofsky’s spellbinding second half of mother!, and how it was constructed, with corresponding screen grabs, behind-the-scenes photography, script cues, and the annotated maps of his shot list.

TO ENTER
Simply e-mail The Film Experience with your name, shipping address, and a sentence on your favorite thing about mother! --  if you haven't seen it yet, guess.
BONUS ENTRY
If you want a better chance to win, we'll give you five entries if you instagram, facebook, or tweet out a picture of yourself with your sink (or some other visual shout out to the movie) and the hashtags #thesinksnotbracedyet and #MotherBluRay. Got it?

Wonder Winner

Congrat to "catbaskets" who won the Wonder Woman jacket contest! The hoodie (pictured left) will be on its way to you shortly, Cat. If you didn't win or if you missed the original post, check out Film Jackets for lots of hoodies and tees you can own.

I asked readers interested in their own Wonder Woman hoodie to send me a brief note on what they love most about either the new Wonder Woman or Wonder Woman in general, so let's share a few of the comments from contest entries after the jump, shall we...

Contest: Wrap Yourself Up in Wonderment

Contest time in case you haven't yet had enough Wonder Woman. I mean, who has?

We're giving away one Wonder Woman Logo Hoodie courtesy of the fine folks at Film Jackets which you can see a photo of to your left. It comes in M, L, XL, or XXL. (This contest is open to readers in the US, UK, or Canada)

If you want one, here's how to enter the contest.

1. Email us with "Hoodie" in the subject line by Saturday night June 10th (tomorrow)
2. Include the following info: Your Name, Size Preference, and Shipping Addresss (this will only be shared if you win as the company will ship directly to you)
3. Include one sentence or more about either your favorite image/moment in the new Wonder Woman movie OR your fav thing about the Amazon princess in general (if you haven't yet seen it). I will probably share some of these responses on the blog even if you don't win.

The winner will be chosen at random on Sunday.

P.S. If you like superhero t-shirts (I used to love my Green Lantern tee until the movie came out and then I was embarrassed to wear it fearing people would actually think I was wearing it because of the movie. Shudder!) Film Jackets has a bunch of them for sale.
