More Quick (Belated) Reviews: Bob's Burgers Movie, Senior Year, etc...

THE BOB’S BURGERS MOVIE
I was perplexed about how to talk about this movie as a longtime passionate fan of Bob's Burgers. On the one hand it was as enjoyable as any episode of the show and it was great to spend time with the Belcher family again. On the other, when I went to write a proper review of it a few days after the screening, I couldn't remember any of the specific jokes beyond the perpetual tease about whether Louise might lose her bunny ears...

What did you see this past weekend?

Proving once again that the public will turn out for movies with superpowers and little else, Morbius opened to $39 million despite terrible buzz and unfriendly reviews. Of course it helped that the studios are hardly releasing any big movies of late so there wasn't much competition for eyeballs. But the big story this weekend was what was happening in limited release...

Review: No fun to be had in 'Morbius'

Too silly to take seriously, but too serious to be any fun, Daniel Espinosa's Morbius suffers from a lack of vision and commitment from its stars and filmmakers. Jared Leto stars as Dr. Michael Morbius, a brilliant scientist suffering from a rare blood disease that has been wrecking his body since childhood. Dr. Morbius is supported by his colleague Dr. Martin Bancroft (Adria Arjona) and his best friend Milo (Matt Smith), who also suffers from the same blood disease.

Morbius attempts to cure himself by using the genetic mapping of vampire bats to compliment his own DNA. You can guess that the experiments go array giving Morbius a form of vampirism...
