Tina Fey & Amy Poehler will co-host the Golden Globes. YES. But can they switch show duties with Seth MacFarlane please? Now I have to look forward to the Golden Globes even more than usual and I'd rather be THAT excited for Oscar.

Finally, for you readers who are also writers... Nail Your Novel has tips on how to prepare for National Novel- Writing Month. I tried to do this once (a sci-fi novel actually) and I liked the exercize but it's hard to do when you're also writing a daily blog. But if you've been stuck in your own writing, I highly recommend.

NaNoWriMo! Everyone should do it!
I feel exactly the same way about Fey/Poehler. I want to be that excited about the Oscars, too.
"Awwww" indeed!
Thanks for sharing that Jason/Barbra video. They sound so great together!
(Plus, i went years and years without knowing that she had a son with Elliot Gould. When did *that* happen?). Must've been hard for Jason because i could imagine his voice had to be ON POINT when facing Barbra.
and Joe Wright is totally the new Baz. That was the first thought in my head when i saw the Anna Karenina trailer. "Ooh, so pretty!" visuals, focus on love stories, their muses and now this Chanel commercial. His Chanel commercial easily trumps Joe's. But then again, Joe didn't really have much to work with...
I miss Baz. I was so pissed and totally unsurprised when Gatsby got moved to a later date. At least it doesn't take Joe a millennium to come out with a new movie. Ah, Baz. I'm angry because i love him so.
I don't know how you can shoot one of the most attractive men in the world in a commercial for one of the most (supposedly) sensual parfums and do it without a trace of lust or sexual desire, just like any other plain/cheap/boring commercial. That must require some skills.
It's remarkable how great Barbra still sounds. She truly is a force of nature. I just saw the wonderful Helen Reddy several weeks ago in San Francisco, and she sounded as fierce as ever. It's as if the cruelty of time has no effect on these classic singers.
Fey/Poheler is such an inspired decision! I wish the Academy would rely more on women.
That was such a Judy/Liza at the Palladium moment, omg.
(Gayest comment ever, I know.)
Unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about the new season of "Homeland" thus far. It's definitely heading towards interesting territory, but I can't help but feel like they're stretching it out with plot contrivances (not to spoil anything, but the most recent one is, of all things, a conspicuously timed flat tire). The big reveal at the end of the second episode was thrilling, but I was disappointed that it took until the very last moments of the third episode to address it again, and of course it won't be until the next one that it's actually pursued. In other words, this past episode, despite some standout moments, felt too much like filler to me, as though the story they're telling this season doesn't really require 12 episodes. To be fair, I'm confident it's about to get really great, but I do get upset when an otherwise brilliantly paced show decides to put out a padded episode.
Thanks for the link. Jason is his mother's son!
The "Carrie" teaser makes it look more like a disaster movie than a horror film ( and did we really need another "Carrie" re-make?! )
