Léa Arrives

Sometimes without warning I flash back to Léa Seydoux's entrance in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, strutting toward the camera/me in her grey trenchcoat.

BANG BANG

I died.

Have you seen her in Sister? Amazing.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol is a movie that is just hellbent on delivering exactly what you want when you want it. Gadgets, Tom Cruise jumping out a window on the tallest building in the world, zippy action sequences, Simon Pegg, Russian baddies, and of course Léa Seydoux pouting about diamonds in a slinky black dress. Best blockbuster since Spiderman 2 if you ask me.

@Kurtis O--Word. I was so disappointed when that movie didn't get the Foreign Film nomination last year. It was so close!

I love her since Christophe Honoré's La Belle Personne!

That sequence is more or less directly lifted from The Sting, down to the trenchcoat, the purse and the alley. If you haven't seen The Sting yet, don't watch this: SPOILER ALERT.

You should definitely watch Sister, Nathaniel - it's one of last year's best films and she's great in it, too.

That felt like a movie star moment. I didn't know who Lea was yet, but I had a feeling that I would/should be seeing her in movies for decades more. I don't get that feeling very often. Like Clara Bow, I guess she has "It."

She's the most gorgeous woman in every film she's in, except for La Vie d'Adele. Compared to Adele Exarchopoulos she looks average.
