Awwww...
Times one thousand.
It's a teaser for the new Disney short Feast. This short apparently tells the life story of a Boston Terrier solely through his meals. It'll play before Big Hero 6 and we may be looking at a serious Best Animated Short Oscar contender.
The Divas...
It's way too early to be thinking about Christmas but if you're an early shopper please know that Glen Hanson, an illustrator I just love, has designed a Liza Minnelli holiday ornament. Thanks to Boy Culture for the heads up. The proceeds go to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS. If you want one you purchase here.
In other Broadway news, a special tribute to Elaine Stritch is coming on November 17th with performances by (are you sitting down) Patti Lupone, Betty Buckley, Christine Ebersole, Michael Feinstein, and my personal favorite of the theatrical divas of a certain age, Bernadette Peters
So who is singing what? They're keeping that a secret naturally.

Saw American Psycho in London and it was TERRIBLE. It didn't help that it starred a (30 minute late and smug about it) couldn't sing even with some sort of stage-autotune and 3 other guys singing with him Matt Smith. But the songs themselves were just embarrassing. (The "women are singing now" song was basically just the word Versace over and over again, if I recall.)
Pssssst. Have you seen the press photo(s) of Emma Stone as Sally Bowles?
I'll miss Elizabeth Peña. I'ts hard out there for Latin American actresses if they don't look like Sofía Vergara.
You know how sometimes there's entertainment news that just isn't for you, you should probably just ignore, but it still gets you irrationally angry anyway? That's me and the second season of "Top of the lake". I full-on hated that series, so much, everything about it from conception to the performances. And the idea of trying to filter out another round of congratulatory reviews is already making me itch.
Um, but to end on a positive note: good for Ezra Miller. Bank those franchise checks, then make weird choices.
It totally doesn't go with my woodsy "put a bird on it!" decor, but I want that Liza ornament!
In other very sad news, Misty Upham of Frozen River and August: Osage County has passed away. Not a lot of details at this time.
Also, I was listening to top 40 on Spotify and there is a song that contains the lyric:
"I swear she's destined for the screen. Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen."
I had to rewind. Dead.
I to will miss Elizabeth Peña. She was so good in LoneStar. I was always happy to see her name in the opening credits.
When are you going to take down that mess that was Murder..........? I think 4 episodes must be a record for a series to jump the shark.
Charles-I was sad to hear about Misty Upham. It appears to be suicide. She was a wonderful actress, very memorable in both "Frozen River" and "August: Osage County."
HAYDEN -- omg. i heard that song the other day too and i was like WHAAAAA it's a good song and now i forgot what it's called.
RAUL & CHARLES -- they're saying suicide but Juliette Lewis on twitter today is saying it's murder and Misty was concerned about being murdered. yikes. evolving story surely.
Ornament looks like Liza in The Act...
NATHANIEL - This new trailer for Unbroken is only the second one. It feels like there's been a lot of them because they play the first trailer with EVERY DAMN MOVIE. In saying that, I actually like this new trailer more than the first one and I actually thought the first one was okay.
I still remember Elizabeth Pena from "Rush Hour!" She was remarkably brassy in that movie.
Hope you watch Norte, the End of History! :)
