Jessica Biel Speaking For Us All...
(a blog post title I thought i'd never write but... Gyllenhaalism. It runs deep)
The trailer to the long-delayed never-finished David O. Russell picture Nailed (2010) which is now called Accidental Love (2015) and debuts in February is after the jump.
Accidental Love - Trailer from Millennium Ent on Vimeo.
David O. Russell no longer claims this picture as his own and The Wrap says it will be credited to "Stephen Greene". Is Hollywood not using that "Alan Smithee" name when no director claims a picture anymore or is Stephen Greene a real person not to be confused with IndieWire's Steve Greene. I can't proceed with a Yes No Maybe So because the curiousity factor is so high the only thing I can possibly think is
GIMME NOW.
Look at how young Jakey looks! And James Marsden in a comedy which began production shortly after Enchanted! And the absurd plot. And David O. Russell's gift with frantic perverse comic ensembles.

What in the.... ?????
That's all I've got.
Yeah, this has to be seen. Even if it's terrible. Nailed is one of those films like Flora Plum where if it ever comes out, you see it.
I see Russell remaking this with Lawrence and Cooper.
It's a mess, cobbled together from the footage that was shot before the production shut down, with a likely inappropriate soundtrack, but I don't care. It looks like Flirting With Disaster era DOR, i.e., before he decided to win at Hollywood. I love this cast, and I love the seven-years-ago look of them and the whole thing. Expecting a train wreck, but after the meh of Silver Linings Playbook and the Scorsese-ish American Hustle, I need this in my life.
Looks absolutely terrible but I have to see this trainwreck. And Jake looks really cute.
Awww look at babyfaced Jake with his Donnie Darko bangs before we went all steroidy... Swoon.
Roark: It's like the Bubble Boy, Donnie Darko style collision we knew we always kind of needed but never got!
Sliding Doors...
If this came out all those years ago, could Jessica Biel have had a completely different career?
Also, doesn't this look exactly like the kind of role Jennifer Lawrence would excel in?
Volvagia: Totally! I miss the Jake from that era.
Hey, if I can see "Serena" and "Grace of Monaco"...and on successive weekends to boot...I'm certainly going to see this!
I'm in! Where do I show up? When does this happen?
This looks absurd, and awful, and campy, and delicious. I'll be there with bells on.
I'm a GIMME NOW for all the above-listed reasons, but I confess I might have gotten there just on the strength of Catherine Keener in big-ass Southern Congresswoman hair holding a comically large gavel. I just... GIMME.
Speaking of 7 years ago, I'm getting a bit of a Reno 911 feel from James Marsden.
Wait, is that Beverly D'angelo? But she's not listed in the iMDB credits?
Jake Gyllenhaal and James Marsden in the same picture? God help my ovaries.
YES! "Flirting with Disaster" is one of my favorite movies
OMG it looks terrible. GIMME NOW.
I mean, how many movies with actors this big simply go unfinished? So strange!
