April 29th should be a national holiday

It's an open thread... with party favors. If you are throwing a birthday party in honor of Michelle Pfeiffer, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Uma Thurman today (and if you aren't, why not?), what is the party theme? food? dress code? What will you sacrifice at their altars give them for a gift tonight?

As if I needed an excuse to watch The Age of Innocence and Dangerous Liaisons.

I wonder when Day Lewis will come out for some more actorly slaying.

I hope Day Lewis will act again in a HAPPY or at least light performance, like NINE, but good.

I want to see Day-Lewis in a comedy or in a Wes Anderson film.

My present for Michelle would be Jessica Tandy's Oscar.

In my dreams, The Academy has issued an apology to Uma for wronging her so many times. I'm patiently waiting for her next iconic role!

To Michelle, the desire and follow-through to pursue a lead role in the next film directed by Paul Weitz (Grandma), Michael Showalter (Hello My Name Is Doris), or, better yet, Brett Haley (I'll See You In My Dreams) and/or Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice).

To Daniel, a triumphant return to the stage.

To Uma, the Bride, "a basket of forgiveness" (in my best 'Chloe Sevigny' voice).

P.S. Jessica Tandy should've willed her Oscar to Michelle Pfeiffer before she died. Just sayin'.
