Netflix hasn't announced its September availabilities yet but here are a few things that just arrived as well as a few you'll need to watch quickly, if you have any desire, as they expire shortly. Let's freeze frame them at random places and see what turns up, shall we?

Flight of the Butterflies (2012)
That sounds uneccessarily dramatic, like it's a tagline for a butterfly blockbuster. This is, you guessed it, a documentary on butterflies. Pretty pretty.

No Country For Old Men (2007)
Spooky. The Coen brothers are such masters. The evocative power of so many beats in their films, like this one right here. I don't remember the context but I got chills the second the image appeared. That Best Picture lineup in 2007 was just bliss, wasn't it? Atonement, Juno, Michael Clayton, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood. Not a single dud or mediocrity in the mix. Which would you have voted for?

Let's Go To Prison (2006)
The poster is a bar of soap (get it? haHA). And my random search landed on a rape joke about a white guy (Will Arnett, shame) cornered by a huge black dude -- so cutting edge and fresh. HARD PASS.
(Sometimes you think of all the movies of the 20th century and even some from the 21st century that have been lost or destroyed or are impossible to access for various reasons and you just weep for what is available to us instead.)
Life panned out as it did. I accepted it and I carried on living. I can't regret everything.
Our Last Tango (2015)
It's a documentary on a famous Argentinian dance team who danced together for nearly 50 years.

Remember when Jaden Smith was teeny-tiny? I had some issues with this movie at the time but Will Smith was very good in it. Forest Whitaker swept the season for The Last King of Scotland but who would have had your Best Actor vote that year?

The Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) expires on August 30th
Confession: I have never seen an Elm Street movie. I had heard that this one was super gay and I literally picked a random spot to press play and it was a shower scene so... maybe.
Death Note (S1) expires on August 31st
Apparently Netflix is remaking this Japanese anime about a student who gets access to a notebook that can kill people if you write their name in it? Weird premise. In this scene the lead is trying to decide whether to kill a class bully. Naturally Netflix has gone with pasty white actors for the leads (sigh). But this is the anime if you're curious. Apparently its being made into a live action movie in Japan as well?

Zathura (2005) expires on August 31st
I was the wrong age group for this movie when it premiered because I don't remember its existence. But, look -- It brought us baby Josh Hutcherson. I think maybe this is something like Jumanji when a game comes to life?

You should watch Nightmare 2 since you're unfamiliar with the franchise. You'll appreciate the actress in the movie who looks like a young Meryl Streep.
A friend of mine adores Death Note. I managed to watvh an episode but wasn't keen on continuing.
Best Actor 2006 goes to Leonardo DiCaprio for "The Departed." Oh wait the Academy nominated him for "Blood Diamond!!!!" so as a city teacher (bias) I vote for Ryan Gosling in "Half Nelson."
Whitaker is undeniable. So arresting.
In 2006, I would have voted for Ryan Gosling, the only nominee with which I agree. Gael García Bernal (Science of Sleep) would be my personal winner, also nominating Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat), Aaron Eckhart (Thank You for Smoking), and Ulrich Mühe (The Lives of Others). If Mühe isn't eligible, then Hugh Jackman (The Fountain).
2006's Best Actor lineup was such a mess. I would have went with:
Ryan Gosling - Half-Nelson (WINNER)
Leonardo DiCaprio - The Departed
Daniel Craig - Casino Royale
Clive Owen - Children of Men
Edward Norton - The Painted Veil
And then I would have had a sixsome with them all ;)
Death Note is an excellent manga. The anime isn't quite on the level because a lot of the action isn't especially cinematic.
Marshall Bell in leather in that shower scene was a formative experience for me. DEFINTELY watch it, and /3rtful is totally (like, Totally!) correct in the resemblance between the lead in "Nightmare" and Meryl Streep.
I was Internet friends with Diablo Cody when she won that Oscar. That was a super cool moment.
ELM STREET 2 is bonkers. So very, very gay. And 3rtful's right, the actress could easily be a Gummer.
The first three Nightmare films and New Nightmare are all worth watching for various reasons, the first one for being an incredibly imaginative and interesting 'pure' horror film, the second for, as others have already said, being incredibly gay, the third for a very nice debut performance from Patricia Arquette and New Nightmare as a clear template for Scream. It's definitely one of the more rewarding franchises in terms of its ratio of good/interesting installments to pure dross.
Best Actor 2007, I'd have gone with the following:

Agree with jekyll /3rtful and everyone else. Super gay and the Streep resemblance is uncanny.
Yeah, one time a couple years back with my old roomies, we put that Nightmare on Elm Street on just to entertain ourselves with a fun movie. We were shocked (and delighted) when it turned out to be the gayest thing on earth.
