Team Experience: The Olympics in IMAX 3D
We've been hoping to return to our group posts from our fabulous Team Experience, so what better way to return than this: Team Experience is going to the Olympics!
Well not literally. But like many of you, we've also been glued to the games in Rio. As with any Olympic year, the games have been filled with spectacle and showmanship - but the increasing production values and drama is simply too much for our television sets to contain. So what if we could watch the Olympics on the biggest screen?
Top 10 Olympic Moments We'd Like to See in IMAX 3D

Leslie Jones Olympic Tweets
Tweets so good, even NBC had to give her a gig. Can we get a full IMAX Olympics documentary narrated by her? - Chris
10. Gisele Bundchen's strut
Can you imagine that leggy 5'11" beauty sky high? Attack of the 75 foot woman! That dress was the shiniest shiny but Gisele's joy was even more radiantly blinding. - Nathaniel

9. Aly Raisman's first tumbling pass
That type of 3D will have you ducking out of her way. - Steven
Now that Usain Bolt's Olympic career is finished, excited for the increase in global foiled-bank-robbers-found-roped-together stories.

8. Usain Bolt just keeps on running
When Usain Bolt repeated his gold medal run from Beijing in Rios, he just kept on running past the finish line prompting funny tweets and such kinetic energy that the TV felt way too small to contain it - Nathaniel
7. #PhelpsFace
I'm not totally big on 3D but in best case scenarios accentuating the visual depth (or lack thereof) can elevate drama. I giggled at all the unsubtle way-too-close shadowboxing by Le Clos directly in Phelps clearly pissed off face. It sure elevated the drama of the swim thereafter. -Nathaniel
6. Katie Ledecky's 11 second lead in the 400m freestyle
I haven't cheered so loudly for an obvious frontrunner since Julianne Moore won an Oscar. - Chris
5. The US Men's Gymnastics team
I'll go with shirtless male gymnasts who openly want to be objectified. - Dancin' Dan
4. The Simones
Biles's moves and Manuel's joy are too powerful to be contained by our television sets. - Chris
3. The underwater swim cam
I'd pay to see that on the big screen over Finding Dory any day. - Steven
2. The lighting of the torch
To be fair, I would always like to see this in 3D, but that gorgeous thing they lit this year looks like it would be particularly breathtaking in person/in 3D. - Dancin' Dan
1. Tonga's Pita Taufatofua
When ogling is not enough, and your thirst is as strong as the Today Show's an IMAX screen will do. - Nathaniel

This year, there can be no other #1.
The closing ceremony really needs to do something as memorable!
Nice list here. This is a great Olympics so far, thanks to Twitter and other social media. We don't have to depend on NBC's ridiculous coverage (golf on Sunday, really? like we don't see enough golf on regular TV? 'Course the other option was synchronized swimming, and although I admire the athleticism, not one of my favorite events!) to capture the really cool moments.
There's been so much camaraderie before and after events between competitors of all countries that it makes me so hopeful that there is right in world when it seems there isn't...
I LOVE the Olympics
It's disappointing that despite the many amazing moments she gave at the olympics, you'd chose a gif of Biles from an event that is clearly not the Rio Olympics. The event's title is there for all to see as she gallops across the vault.
What a great post!
I'm sorry but what Hoda is doing is just sexual harassment. She's scary but not as scary and as evil as Kathie Lee.
The race you show with Simone Manuel was the one where she tied with Penny Oleksiak, the latter becoming Canada's first gold medalist of the tournament, the youngest gold medalist in Canadian Olympic history (she just turned 16 in June), and marked her fourth medal of the Games, setting a Canadian record for medals at a single Summer Olympics. She's probably the star of the games for Canada now, alongside Andre de Grasse.
Thanks Sean - that tie for gold was the 1st tie I have ever seen. remarkable.
I just knew the man from Tonga would work his way on to this list.
Just have Pita completely naked for the closing ceremony. That's the only way to top the opening.
