Year in Review: 17 Wigs From 2017
Each day a new "year in review" angle. Here's Chris Feil...
Perhaps it's the return of RuPaul's Drag Race next month or the fact that we finally have Greta Gerwig in the Oscar race, but we've got wigs on the brain. While Oscar has nailed down the potentially nominated wiggery for the Makeup and Hairstyling category, it's worth reflecting that this year gave us far more glorious wig moments than can be captured in a single Oscar category.
From Michelle Williams's subtle 70s waves in All the Money in the World, the white trash extravaganza of I, Tonya, to The Greatest Showman's candy confections, the movies had us shouting "WIG!" all year long.
Here are 17 memorable moments in wigs in 2017...

Cate Blanchett's hair is so cool when it's down as she embodies this great combination of total sexiness and badassery.
I am gagging over this entire post and now i have synthetic hair in my mouth.
I am still in awe of Sasha Velour's wig reveal. I get so emotional, baby.
Sasha Velour is the real lipsynch assassin of the Season, maybe of all seasons! Love Shea Coullee and wish he, trinity or Valentina will compete for All Stars 3 and will have a great Chance to be the Winner, but Sasha deserve that Crowning. Not only for that two killer Lipsynch alone, because she was sooo underrated that season and should still win the make over challenge, the gayest ball and maybe snatch game. Always on Top, never be in the buttom! ^^
omg this post is why i love tfe so much
i have never seen ru pauls drag race do they yell all the time in that or something? cuz whenever i see pictures from it ppl look like they're yelling.
B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-C-E! You own Everything!!
That Rihanna gif is the only reason I want to see Valerian. Bless this website, and bless you, Chris Feil, for every single one of those captions, especially "Pennywig".

Real hair bob wigs have become a favored choice among actors and filmmakers, offering both versatility and a natural appearance that is crucial for on-screen authenticity. In the film industry, where appearance can make or break a character's believability, these wigs play a pivotal role in transforming actors into their roles seamlessly.
The Magic of Wigs in Filmmaking
Wigs are a staple in the world of cinema, allowing actors to quickly and convincingly change their hairstyles without the need for drastic cuts or color changes. Real hair bob wigs, in particular, are prized for their natural look and feel. Made from 100% human hair, these wigs move and shine just like natural hair, making them virtually indistinguishable on camera. This realism is essential for close-up shots and high-definition films where every detail counts.
Why Actors Prefer Real Hair Bob Wigs
Many actors opt for real hair bob wigs for their comfort, durability, and versatility. Unlike synthetic wigs, real hair wigs can be styled with heat tools, colored, and even permed to match the specific requirements of a character. This flexibility allows hairstylists on set to experiment with different looks and styles, ensuring that the actor's appearance perfectly fits the vision of the director and the demands of the script.
The bob wig, in particular, is a versatile style that can suit a wide range of characters—from the sleek, sophisticated businesswoman to the edgy, modern artist. Its timeless appeal and manageable length make it a practical choice for actors who need to switch between roles frequently.
Maintenance and Longevity
Real hair bob wigs are not only realistic but also easy to maintain. They require similar care to natural hair, including regular washing, conditioning, and occasional deep treatments to keep them looking their best. This makes them a sustainable option for actors who might need to wear the same wig throughout a long filming schedule. Moreover, their durability means they can withstand the rigors of daily wear and styling on set.
Enhancing Character Development
The right hairstyle is crucial in character development, and real hair bob wigs offer the perfect blend of style and authenticity. They can help define a character's personality, era, and social status, providing visual cues that enhance storytelling. For instance, a sleek bob can convey professionalism and control, while a tousled, wavy bob might suggest a more carefree, creative spirit.
