John Kransiski sure did marry up. She's not even on the same planet as him.

PEDRO ALMODOVAR: There are so many wonderful Spanish films. I am particularly fond of those made in the 1970s. Three come to mind:

Furtivos (Poachers), directed by José Luis Borau. A very disturbing film, with a colossal performance by Lola Gaos.

Cría cuervos (Raise Ravens), directed by Carlos Saura. Child-actress Ana Torrent (she was also in The Spirit of the Beehive) gives a heart-wrenching performance.

Mamá cumple 100 años (Mama Turns 100), also directed by Carlos Saura, with the delicious Rafaela Aparicio and good support form Saura's then-wife, Geraldine Chaplin, and Fernando Fernán Gómez.

BETTE MIDLER: What I wouldn't give to see the Divine Miss M playing Dolly! Will she win a competitive Tony? The one she has is a special award. All she has to do after that is win an Oscar and she'll get the EGOT!

" Jamon Jamon" is a must see for a young and and often naked Javier Barden... shots of Jake Lacey and Kyle Chandler would have made "Carol With Out Women" more exciting than the acutal movie...Ken Russell's " The Devil" still has the power to shock

Married actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will co star for the first time in the horror thriller A Quiet Place. Krasinski will also direct.

Initially startled this was a remake of the Vanessa Redgrave cult classic.

when did sardi's start defining caricature as "poorly drawn likeness with no exaggeration"?

Saw The Devils here at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR last summer with a sold-out crowd. Truly was a great experience.

par - i was just thinking this but didnt say it out loud.

jaragon - noted on jamon jamon

Mareko - 90 to 220 but hard to get. and things get confusing in summer (when tickets seem avaiable because Donna Murphy is stepping in whenever Bette is off and that seems to be frequently)

Jaragon - so true. Almodovar's summary makes it seem like it's all about Cruz but really it's all about the many, many ways that film objectifies Bardem at his physical prime. I was stunned at what they do with the camera.
