Tweetweek: Feat Old Deuteronomy (...and Burlesque ?)
Some tweets curated for you over the past couple of weeks because they amused us...
Dern v JLo is this year’s Glenn v Gaga, in that Cho Yeo-Jeong will win and gays will all be sad but ultimately not mad.

If only Joel, if only.
AFTER THE JUMP How actors eat food in movies, how people become gay, how Timothée Chalamet was conceived, best of the decade, and more...

No one is born a gay; you simply hear Sutton Foster’s perfect straight-tone-into-spin-belt on the word “love” in Gimme Gimme and then it’s like they say, “hear the C, crave the D.”

Rewatching THE AGE OF INNOCENCE on the big screen tonight reminded me that we talk too much about Daniel Day Lewis's acting and too little about his outrageously good looks. pic.twitter.com/73lqbREyMy

This has been such a long year that I genuinely forgot Regina King won an Oscar in February.

I admit I'm disheartened to see the reaction to MARRIAGE STORY -- a movie I admire because it seems empathetic to everyone -- so focused on "whose side is the movie on"/"whose side are you on"/"whose fault was it" questions. (I feel the same way about THE LAST FIVE YEARS.)

REFLECTIONS ON A DECADE (2010-2019)
The thing about people who don’t think 20th Century Women is one of the best movies of the decade is they’re wrong

CATS MADNESS
The best thing Tom Hooper does with CATS is now Old Deuteronomy and Gus have definitely fucked and probably will again as soon as the credits roll.
— Chris Feil (@chrisvfeil) December 19, 2019
It is true that Taylor Swift paid me a substantial amount of money to say she's best in show in Cats. She was very concerned about the critical reception of her performance, and naturally came to me first for support. pic.twitter.com/X11pSJDBeE

Cats: The Movie (2019) is my sleep paralysis demon. It sits upon my chest each night whispering "they CGIed out Jason Derulo's penis." I am powerless to stop it

ONE FINAL REVELATION
THIS IS AWESOME -- IS RISING ACTOR KELVIN HARRISON JR AN ACTRESSEXUAL LIKE ALL OF US?

I cannot stand watching an actor play around with their food in a scene. It's even worse when they are actually chewing their food. I mostly forward scenes that have food in them.
I became gay the first time I heard 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' by ABBA. Sutton Foster who?
I'm an openly declarated actressexual but for some strange reason the performances that i´ve been like more from the films that i´ve watched recently are from men: Benny Emmanuel in Chicuarotes, Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, Luis Alberti in Luciérnagas, Carlos Valencia in Ratas, Ratones y Rateros, Roque Valero in Punto y Raya and Gustavo Sanchez Parra in Rabia. The curious thing is that excepcting Valero all are mean-evil characters.
My only escape from all that testosterone is the performance of Verónica Llinás in the TV series Viudas e Hijos del Rock and Roll .... where she plays a mean-evil character.
I agree with that Ryan Gosling tweet.
I don't follow Sasha Stone, but her twitter has such a car wreck quality lately that I can't stop looking at it, the newsworthiness of that Megyn Kelly instagram post aside.
That tweet about Burlesque is CORRECT!
Omg I’m fascinated watching actors on tv shows and movies NOT eat their food/drink their beverages. Lol.
I always thought it was cool how in the movie “Home for the Holidays”, Jodie Foster had a real actual Thanksgiving dinner on the table and told the actors to actually EAT! Lol. Imagine that
Cynthia Nixon (on Sex and the City) is always a masterclass in actually eating onscreen. I can't think of another actor who does that so convincingly, as (real) people do.
I knew I loved Kelvin Harrison Jr!
Kelvin Harrison, Jr. has excellent taste in actresses. He gave an interview two years ago in which he said he most wants to act opposite Tilda Swinton.
But he kinda irked me in the same interview (in a publication called Crush) when the interviewer asked him his favorite Rihanna song and his response was, “Beyoncé fan. K thanks. Bye.” 1) What does that even mean? Can you not like both? 2) I know it’s not fair, but I’m suspicious of people who don’t like at least one RiRi track.
I know he hasn’t publicly stated his sexuality but he very much gives me Gay (Stan) Twitter vibes, only not the parts I frequent.
Louis Garrel Sexy beast! Really good actor! Also 20th Century women was certainly one of the best and most neglected movie of the Decade. I sort of want to see CATS but I'm a bit scared it will give me nightmares..
Yikes. If Jolie and her fright wig in ‘Girl Interrupted,’ and Amy Adams’ wild over acting in ‘American Hustle,’ are beloved by gay folk, please color me lost and confused.
Cate Blanchett is peerless in ‘Blue Jasmine.’ Adams was the least deserving of any acclaim. And Morton, Keener, Sevigny and Collette all are more gay-centric than Jolie’s dragon could ever be. Let’s not rewrite history again😱
Burlesque was shit. It sucked then and it sucked now. At least it's not Cats.
On Amy Adams in American Hustle, do u guys tink she wld've won Best Actress had Queen Cate won 15 yrs earlier for Elizabeth??
The Barbara Rose sequence in Phantom Thread is everything. There should be podcasts. Books. Moments of silence and reflection. A national day to celebrate it.
I wouldn't be sad or mad if Cho Yeo-Jeong won. I would be thrilled actually. But she is such a long shot at this point I hope she just gets nominated.
I think about Harriet Sansom Harris's indelible & ineffable performance as Barbara Rose at least ten times a day. Oh and I'll die of ecstasy if Cho Yeo-jeong is even NOMINATED for an Oscar!
Whoops. Didn’t mean to embolden that last block of text.
To be fair, only old gays are sorry for Glenn's loss. Young gays and lesb cheer for Olivia's win.
Harriet Sansom Harris was the best thing about Phantom Thread.
