HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Though the film year doesn't really end until Oscar night (you know it's true!) here are some cinematic dreams that we have for 2020 on this special night/morning...

... that In the Heights proves to be amazing since we need good movie musicals
... that we revive the smackdown with more consistent episodes and find great guests
... that we finish the film bitch award nominations on time (before Oscar nominations / Oscar night!)
... that French Exit proves to be special and everyone worships Michelle Pfeiffer again
... that any surprises on Oscar nomination morning are good ones
... the Black Widow isn't the first MCU film to flop because we dont want Disney (who now controls everything) to doubt that female movie stars can carry films
... that Dune is amazing
... for Kristen Wiig to make an amazing Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984
... that 2020 proves to be another abundant quality year for female directors

...for Paul Thomas Anderson and David Fincher's next movies to be as great as their previous ones since we're always missing them.
... that Christopher Nolan finally learns how to write female characters since it's what Elizabeth Debicki deserves in Tenet
... that the Death on the Nile remake is way better than Murder on the Orient Express remake was
... that Tilda Swinton gets a new lead role worthy of her. Tired of only getting her in supporting roles since that great 2010-2015 stretch!
... that the streaming wars force Hollywood to make all old movies streamable
... that Hollywood magically decides to honor their beautiful archives and restore some underseen classics
... that we can launch and maintain some new voices / series here at TFE
... that we discover some exciting new actresses / actors / filmmakers
... that all of you have a wonderful year of moviegoing and visiting the blog.

We're not dreaming too big. It's what we all deserve!

A supercut of the films from the past decade... didn't expect that it would tear me up. Quite well done.

Happy New Year to you all!!

@Claran- Sue Lyon was kind of pidgeon holed in her career but she was more talented than she was given credit for. She was quite good in Night of the Iguana (as were all the women in that film)
