Very much looking forward to this movie. Love all that are involved.
Ooh, you get to go to Venice AND start off with Kiki Dunst in a Jane Campion film?! You are blessed n highly favored, my friend.
Okaaay, so this teaser is definitely making me feel they're going to push Kirsten Dunst in supporting actress, which is fine by me. The easier to attain her nom, the better.
Philip H -- really? i had the opposite reaction. It seems like a two lead film from this promo (i'm surprised at how little emphasis is on Kiki's man) and i was suddenly like "maybe i was wrong to put her in the supporting chart,
Please don't fall into the canal.
Nathaniel -- Hmm... I do see what you're saying. I forgot about Plemmons lol. I mean I'd love to see Kirsten in the leading category even more, so I wouldn't be upset. But something about her giving the same kind of energy in every moment made me think they'd push her in supporting, along with the category fraud of these days. But it's just a teaser, so who knows.
Certainly sensing a homoerotic vibe from Cumberbatch's character 👀 Hoping the best from Kiki!
I'm very eager to read Elisa's and your reviews! I hope you can make to Penelope Cruz's doublet with Parallel Mothers and Competencia Oficial!
Peggy -- hey, if it's good enough for Hepburn in Summertime (1956)...
So much to see. If it was me - Dune, Soho, The Hand of God, The Card Counter, The Last Daughter, and Spencer.
This teaser looks incredible. I don't know if you read the recent piece on Power of the Dog in Vanity Fair, but Campion discussed how she chose this project as something she could really sink her teeth into so my expectations are high! The official competition looks great too. Very excited about Parallel Mothers in particular.
It's a day for Oscar hopeful trailers,Spencer has just been released with lots of Sally Hawkins in the trailer and Stewart's what sounds perfect Diana voice.
I can see Cumberbatch being a critics favourite.
Highly anticipated, please go see:

Yeah, I'm totally going to see this. It's Jane Campion, she's awesome as I like most of her stuff (except for In the Cut).
How exciting for you! If it was me, I would try to see films that I might never EVER see in a theater later on. Unless you want to be first to watch Dune (ugh).
Pam -- lol. i usually go for a mix of seeing things early for Oscar purposes and things that have no distribution because they look interesting. I have certain countries i'm interested in their cinema but there's next to no Scandinavian pictures and the Asian pictures are slim or super long so not sure what i'm picking yet.
I'll be skipping most of the stuff with US streaming dates in the near future.
Did no one else get minor key Jurassic Park vibes from the tune Cumberbatch was whistling? That was all I could think about for the first 30 seconds or so of the teaser.
To ease my jealousy, I will indulge in some scrumptious Italian cuisine and watch my favorite film shot in Venice - The Wings of the Dove. That the exquisite film features Helena Bonham Carter's finest performance is a sweet bonus!
