Team Experience: One last agonized cry for the snubbees this Emmy nomination day!

As is our habit, we polled Team Experience this morning to see which Emmy snub yanked them straight to mourning this morning. Here are their answers. Please share your own in the comments, won't you? Misery loves company!

CHRIS FEIL: MJ Rodriguez in POSE. While we can hope that Billy Porter's immensely deserved nomination can represent the entire ensemble with a win, it still leaves Pose's exquisite female cast members unrewarded including the most deserving: Mj Rodriguez's resilient and compassionate house mother Blanca. It's infuriating that the show's directing and writing went unrecognized due to the Game of Thrones glut, but to have denied the season's emotional epicenter is just about unconscionable. Hers is the work that most embodies the multifaceted show and all of its triumphs and power.

DEBORAH LIPPGentleman Jack got crowded out, why? Emilia Clark over Suranne Jones is not supportable. FOUR nominations for Game of Thrones over Sophie Rundle in supporting actress is not supportable. Game of Thrones' worst season over this breakthrough new series is NOT! SUPPORTABLE!

lots more weeping after the jump...

Emmy FYC: Suranne Jones in "Gentleman Jack"

Team Experience has been sharing our FYCs for the Emmys. With voting ending today here's our last plea from Deborah Lipp...

Suranne Jones, you have stolen my heart. To be fair, it’s Anne Lister who has stolen my heart, but Jones breathes such extraordinary life into the character, that I cannot separate them. Yes, I love the historical figure of Anne Lister, whoever she might have been in real life, but I love this Anne Lister, and that is all due to Suranne Jones.

Anyone familiar with my writing knows I do not attempt to remove my personal slant from my reviews. I don’t believe in it, to be honest. We all bring ourselves to the viewing experience, and we color what we see with what we bring to seeing. I write this rave review as myself, a queer woman married to the fantastically butch Professor Spouse...

Streaming Roulette, June: Always Be My Gentleman Jack, Maybe?

As is our practice we've selected several random titles and frozen the films at utterly random moments without cheating (whatever comes up comes up!) for this quick preview for titles streaming in the first half of June 2019. Please do let us know if you're dying to discuss any of the films.  Okay, let's go...

-Not in your traditional heteronormative sense. We're married spiritually... and sexually
-But not literally [awkward laugh] !

Always Be My Maybe (2019) on Netflix
Netflix is all about the romcoms though the quality tends to vary. We're so glad Crazy Rich Asians held out for a theatrical release last year since it was so deserving of being a big hit. We will definitely check this one out.
