Did you see today's Google Doodle celebrating the late Freddie Mercury's birthday? Here it is below. It begs the eternal question: why does his biopic never get made? Wasn't it supposed to be a Sacha Baron Cohen project at one point. When was the last time we heard any news on this one? The Show Must Go On filmmakers.

On Eddie Murphy: The Oscar producers wanted us to say "Oooh!" at their pick. Instead, I'm left saying "Ewww."
On Kurt's piece about bad theater etiquette: I had my worst movie disruption just a few weeks back at a screening of The Help. Some young couple brought their 3- or 4-year-old who screamed through the last hour of the movie. They'd walk her down to the theater's exit ramp and the entire audience would hear her scamper up and down the ramp, cooing every now and then, while Mom and Dad continued to watch the movie. It was disgusting, but I'm disappointed to say that I wasn't about to tell them to leave-- I wanted to focus on the movie.
Sometimes, I wish kids weren't allowed in adult spaces...

in better news, i finally saw "The Puffy Chair" last night and had my mumblecore expectations exceeded. 4 stars (out of 5).
