Tweetweek: Pink Typography and Tough Pizza
Tweets of the Week. If we couldn't joke about movies the current political climate would be enough to drive us all off the ledge wouldn't it? So here are two tweets that most helped me get through the week by LOL'ing instead of crying.
congrats to france for electing a not crazy president but you still let anne hathaway die a penniless prostitute

As someone who doesn't like Depp or Giada AT ALL, I can't help but love Jessica Chastain and Nicole Kidman even more now.
Was Chastain's eye rolling dismissive of Depp or the reporter? I can't decide, but both are warranted.
Mareko -- good point, so let's say both.
Johnny Depp has his lines fed to him by an earpiece? Yeah, I'm with Jessica Chastain on that.
Nicole Kidman doesn't like Giada's pizza? Wow.... I bet it does taste like cardboard.
I'll buy her a little Caesar's pepperoni for $5.30. We can hang out w/ Naomi Watts and chat about films. I love Nic. Kudos for her for moving on from that overrated, no-talent midget.
That pizza diss came after several digs and inappropriate jokes about "balls" by the chef. At one point, a visibly embarrassed Kidman said something along the lines of "this is a family show", and the chef eventually referred to her as "the woman who can't cook anything". That burn was well earned.
The cat tweet is the best, followed by the one about cameos by reporters on movies.
I get that it's supposed to be in jest but the tweet by Chris Schleicher actually frustrates me and angers me and annoys me. It's such a display of privilege that I find it hurtful rather than amusing. "LOL People will die but at least I'm getting good movies with my favorite actress." Can we please not?
I think Jessica needs to simmer down. Regardless of unorthodox 'techniques', Johnny Depp will be remembered in 100 years, and Chastain will not. That's the movies!
The Kidman/Giada episode is priceless. A charmless bossy little chef firing on all cylinders to be funny/sassy/shady brought down by a single act of supreme shade by a queen. "It's a little tough" should enter the pantheon of great putdowns
I'm cracking up at the idea that anyone will remember Johnny Depp in 100 years. I grew up in the '90s, and I'd have to think hard to name 5 of his films.
Yeah I think Depp has burned up his goodwill and will be forgotten in a good 10-15. I loved Chastain's reaction - it was perfect. First the eyeroll, then saying in so may words 'I memorize by doing work', and then pivoting to a discussion of how she actually works to memorize.
