Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:30PM Before we get to the final "happy thoughts" Team Experience Globe Reaction finale, I thought I'd ask our contributors and friends of the site questions about the Golden Globe fates of Vice (nomination leader), First Man (2 nominations, Score and Supporting Actress), and Widows (entirely shut out). It's easy to theorize about what's happening with all three of those movies, and theorizing is fun. So let's begin:
1. Why do you think Vice led the nominations?
DEBORAH LIPP: Hating Dick Cheney is a cathartic substitute for hating Donald Trump. I support this.
GUY LODGE (VARIETY): Because it's the newest thing out and, crucially, because it hasn't been reviewed yet -- its on-paper prestige is still undented...
Friday, December 7, 2018 at 5:00PM For today's Posterized a little something different - rather than a star or director, a character. Here are all of the films that have told the story or a story involving Mary, Queen of Scots. The latest iteration, Mary Queen of Scots (which we just reviewed) starring Saoirse Ronan opened in movie theaters today. Saoirse's other two movies this year (On Chesil Beach and The Seagull) didn't really register with moviegoers so we're hoping for the best with the third given the Brooklyn/Lady Bird goodwill she's accumulated. But on to the royal question at hand...

Avengers 4 (or 5 if you count Captain America: Civil War, which you probably should) finally has a title: Avengers Endgame. Yay, superhero movies are ending! (Just kidding in two ways. They're obviously not over and I like 'em even while I wish they weren't the dominant moviegoing culture.)
But anyway, you know what would be truly truly thrilling? If Marvel Studios and Disney were brave enough to not release ANY more footage from Avengers: Endgame beyond this teaser. Why waste all the money on advertising and spoil the visual reveals when everyone is already going to see the movie? Avengers: Infinity War grossed 2 billion worldwide making it the highest-grossing movie of 2018. There's no reason to believe that Endgame couldn't do the same even without the hardsell.

Though TFE has bemoaned the need for every little city in the world to have their own critics organizations (sometimes two!) rather than merely joining preexisting organizations, we don't feel the same way when it comes to representation and diversity. We were actually shocked to realize that there wasn't already an organization for Latino entertainment journalists. Clayton Davis of Awards Circuit fame saw the gap and founded The Latino Entertanment Journalists Association and will serve as its first president. Additional founding board members are Toni Gonzales (Freelance), Niki Cruz (AM NY), and Kiko Martinez (Remezcla). This new Association will announce their first film awards on January 20th, 2019...
