"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" Returns !

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" began its eighth season last week with Moonlight.  If you're new to the blog or haven't yet experimented with actually participating in the weekly series that is open to all, we guarantee a good time.

UP NEXT

Tues May 30th Wonder Woman (1976)
We're doing Season 1 Episodes 5/6 (two parter) "The Feminine Mystique" which is largely considered one of the best episodes of the series and is after the show perfected Diana's spinning costume change (which was rougher / incomplete in the first few episodes). Plus this one features Debra Winger as "Wonder Girl", only her second role ! [Amazon  (per episode or season) | iTunes (full season) ]

Tues June 6th Parent Trap (1961)

HOW TO PLAY?

Fun selections--can we e-mail contributions for HMWYBS? Or does it need to posted somewhere online?

Also curious to know what you are keeping to yourself about last season...

"Moonlight" gets HMWYBS treatment? SWOON.

Can we do A Woman under the Influence at some point? It will also give you an excuse to finally get on the Gena Rowlands bandwagon, Nathaniel.

I dabbled in this last year, but life got in the way. This is one of my favorite features on this site and it was so enjoyable. Moonlight is a very good choice for this. I liked the movie, and it is filled with beautiful shots. Out of movies from last year that I hope show up are La La Land, Arrival, and Moana if they are possible. And for an experimental episode I'd love to try doing The Handmaid's Tale after season 1 is over because the cinematography is just so perfect. I'm glad this is coming back!!

So happy HMWYBS is coming back! And kicking off the new season with Moonlight is such a perfect choice. <3

Hooray! I felt terrible that life got too busy for me to participate last year, so I'm really excited that my favorite feature on the site lives to see another day. Great choices for the start of the season, and I can't wait to watch the films, write up my shots, and read everyone else's selections!

I second BVR's suggestion for A Woman Under the Influence.

They say NOSTALGIA is a bad feeling. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman is pure magic and NOSTALGIA.The same way Christopher Reeve is the definitive, Lynda Carter is the definitive too.

OOOH, i'm already game to revisit Moonlight for this.

Also I might have been passed out drunk when I missed Beauty and the Beast!

I'm eagerly waiting for La La Land

Glad to see this feature return. Really looking forward to The Parent Trap, a film I love.

Any hope of seeing another favorite feature, the Smackdown, come back anytime soon?

May 29, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterjoel6

Yeah, A Woman Under The Influence would be a great opportunity to celebrate gritty cinematography and hand-held camera. Masters Caleb Deschanel (The Right Stuff, The Passion of the Christ) and Frederick Elmes (Blue Velvet, The Ice Storm) were assistants in this movie.

At least it'd be great to study a more actor and movement focused movie. And of course every excuse is valid to worship the best performance of all time.
