Podcast: Black Panther (plus underseen gems)

With Nathaniel now ensconced in new digs, the podcast can resume. Up first a mini-podcast on Ryan Coogler and Marvel's Black Panther blockbuster with Nick Davis and Katey Rich. It's paired with a "deleted scene" from the last podcast as Nick, special guest Teo Bugbee and Nathaniel discuss favorites that were never really in the awards conversation but we hope people will find on streaming including super-hero adjacent Professor Marston and the Wonder Women.

Lost Podcast / Last Jedi

Surprise! The following podcast was lost after a recent move but has been recovered. This podcast was recorded over the Christmas break but the SAG part at least is hyper relevant to this weekend with the Screen Actors Guild Awards hitting tomorrow.

Nathaniel welcomes a particularly grouchy Nick Davis and new guest Teo Bugbee who had just pulled an all nighter to see Star Wars The Last Jedi. We discuss what the hell Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro are doing in it before moving on to SAG's "Outstanding Ensemble" nominees (and other ensemble films we like, too).

Ding Dong! "Las Culturistas" Calling...

The TFE podcast will be back soon, but until then, here's a detour to another listen!

I had the pleasure of being this weekend's guest on "Las Culturistas". Matt Rogers (no relation) and Bowen Yang take you to the cultch each week. They've been making all sorts of lists of best comedy podcasts (VultureEsquireTimeOut New York) and so I was getting my Lyft on to the studio, honey, as soon as they asked. Lists are life and to be consulted with when making life decisions like 'to guest or not to guest?')

I was terrified but they put me at ease immediately with Rule #1470 of Culture ("Kirsten Dunst makes it look easy"). And from there we talk about Oscar, actresses, Michelle Pfeiffer, who's going to win Best Picture, things that are pissing us off at the moment, and so on.
