New to Prime: Dirty Grandpa, Sabrina, and Nuts!

If you've caught up on all the Oscar nominees and want to watch movies at home instead, the first of the month always brings lots of options. As is our on again off again tradition, we've freeze framed new-to-streaming options on Amazon Prime at entirely random places and shared whatever we saw there. Will you be watching / have you loved any of these films?

I think you're both a couple of tramps."

Frankie & Johnny (1991)
MICHELLE! We have you're enjoying our Michellebration of the RePfeiffal on Saturdays. You're probably anxious to get to the movie-movies and they're right around the corner. Grease 2 and Scarface will sandwich Oscar week so that's something to look forward to! I haven't seen Frankie & Johnny in FOREVER but that's a few months away in the retrospective.

Six more screengrabs of randomness starring Zac Efron, Audrey Hepburn, Susan Sarandon and more after the jump...

Surely this deserves its own cinematic beauty break? Ready set go...

Manuel here catching us up on a project that is primed to be billed as "The next La La Land." Not only is Michael Gracey's upcoming musical The Great Showman scheduled for release next Christmas (just in time for the holidays and awards season) but it features music by La La Land duo Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, who'll soon no doubt be credited with single-handedly bringing the original movie musical back to life.

Focused on the life of P.T. Barnum, the film has suffered through a long development period but is finally shooting here in New York...

Review: Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

This review was originally published in Nathaniel's Towleroad column...

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates starts out giddy with a bouncy firecracker of a credits sequence. Please take that literally as the credits involve a trampoline, fireworks, and two gleeful stars Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) in mid air. Their joyful abandon is short-lived. A scene or two later we're at an intervention with their parents (Stephen Root & Stephanie Faracy) in which we see these same high-flying images again from a less zhushed-up perspective in home wedding videos their parents play them. The inseparable brothers, always each other's bachelor dates at these gatherings, egg each other on until disaster strikes. Property destruction and ambulance calls follow them...
