Who got the biggest Oscar boost from the Globes?

I'll be updating the Oscar charts once the Globe results have settled and the BAFTA nominations are thoroughly parsed. To do so we must ask the time old precursor awards question: who benefitted most from winning or losing at this speed bump on Oscar's highway (sorry for the clumsy metaphor -- I have driving on the brain due to La La Land's big deal opening number). Perhaps the obvious answer is Isabelle Huppert who has had a tremendous week winning the NSFC and the Globe and her movie winning the Globe, too, and finally passing the not insignificant $1 million mark at the box office (making it the one of the most successful foreign language film in the States this year.)

Moonlight's Best Picture win and La La Land's sweep (now the biggest Golden Globe winner of all time with 7 prizes) is perhaps the most "what does it mean?" prize. It's good news for both films obviously, at least for marketing purposes, but since Moonlight's was the last prize of the night and it had won no other awards, will it be anyone's "takeaway" from one of television's biggest awards nights? And do La La Land's seven prizes feel like overkill?

I grilled Team Experience who they thought benefitted from the Globe trophies...

Best Dressed Men at the Globes?

Who was the best dressed man at the Golden Globes? We took a quick poll of Team Experience to answer the infrequently asked question (don't worry the marquee category "best gowns" is coming later). Here are the responses though we must know which tux had you at full attention in the comments.

Jose: Donald Glover. Every time I saw I remembered the "polyester suit / it's wool" exchange from La La Land

Steven: If you told me someone was going to wear a brown tux to the Globes, I would have assumed Jimmy Fallon was doing some misguided bit. But Donald Glover's ensemble was the real deal. I was very thankful they trotted him up to that stage twice...

Beauty vs Beast: Elle La La

Jason from MNPP here with this week's post-Globes edition of "Beauty vs Beast" - a big congratulations to all of last night's winners (yes even Aaron Johnson - I liked that movie; sue me) but especially to the actresses, because duh. This is The Film Experience.

So are Emma Stone and Isabelle Huppert the front-runners now for Best Actress now? I mean I don't want to jinx myself...

Would kissing Andrew Garfield make you feel better about losing a "Best Actor" prize?

🔲  Yes.
🔲  No.
🔲  Depends on who I lost it to.

(From the photographic evidence, nobody enjoyed this best actor losing kiss more than Mrs Ryan Reynolds herself Blake Lively.)

Fallon's "La La Land"-Spoofing Globes Opener

Chris here. While we were graced with an overall delightful (if fairly sober) Golden Globes ceremony, I think we can all safely say Jimmy Fallon was a dud. Chief offenses included gross imitations of famous black people, flatline jokes, and returning to the ceremony just when we thought we were done with him. But he did try to set himself up for success by opening the show with a La La Land-lampooning opening number that also featured some of the night's other nominees. Let's do a rundown of the good, bad, and ugly:
