Team Experience Oscar Prediction Results

How did you do on your predictions? Yesterday we published the final predictions from all Film Experience writers. While many of the expected films (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Fabelmans, The Banshees of Inisherin) successfully made good on their Oscar promise, even we were stumped on a few nominees. Perhaps we should’ve taken Titanic stars Kate Winslet and Frances Fisher more seriously when they posted about Andrea Riseborough in To Leslie. However, we have the results of which writers came out ahead on our friendly competition!

28 Years, 28 Films

It was on July 17th, 1994, when a most foul thing happened. In Lisbon, a baby was born destined to become an insufferable cinephile full of opinions and costume design trivia swilling around in his chronically depressed mind. That unfortunate creature was me, and today I celebrate my 28th birthday. Inspired by Nathaniel and Tim Brayton, I decided to mark the occasion with a special list that fully displays my movie passions. With a film for each year, this collection comprises titles that mean something to me, for one reason or another. Of course, they're not these years' best cinematic achievements, nor are they my outright favorites. However, I have a special place in my heart, in my memories, for them all. The One-Inch Barrier: The Finale

After covering 74 years of Best International Film winners, nominees, and other contenders, Juan Carlos Ojano has brought The One-Inch Barrier podcast to an end. The project was a fantastic opportunity to explore world cinema through the prism of Oscar history, though it often went beyond that limit, too. It featured a varied slew of guests that spanned from critics to academics, film students, filmmakers, and even an Academy member. I was lucky enough to appear five times through its course, talking 2001, 1983, 1961, 1954, and, now, this special farewell episode.
