"Avengers: Endgame" Teases

by Nathaniel R

Avengers 4 (or 5 if you count Captain America: Civil War, which you probably should) finally has a title: Avengers Endgame. Yay, superhero movies are ending! (Just kidding in two ways. They're obviously not over and I like 'em even while I wish they weren't the dominant moviegoing culture.)

But anyway, you know what would be truly truly thrilling? If Marvel Studios and Disney were brave enough to not release ANY more footage from Avengers: Endgame beyond this teaser. Why waste all the money on advertising and spoil the visual reveals when everyone is already going to see the movie? Avengers: Infinity War grossed 2 billion worldwide making it the highest-grossing movie of 2018. There's no reason to believe that Endgame couldn't do the same even without the hardsell.

The teaser is after the jump...

Netflix in November: Doctor Strange, 16 Candles, Children of Men, etc...

Time to play Streaming Roulette. Each month, to survey new streaming titles we freeze frame the films at random places with the scroll bar and whatever comes up first, that's what we share!

Here's what's new on Netflix...

When you leave, you should forget me.

The English Patient (1996) won 9 Oscars. Nine! As much as that's a wonderful movie -- and my god it hurts to look at these two (Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas in they're prime) they're so superhumanly gorgeous -- 9 is a lot. I'm glad Oscar has recently moved away from giving all the statues to one movie. It's been 10 years since we've had that kind of overkill (Slumdog Millionaire with 8)... and lately things have been winning closer to 3-5 which is more than enough for most movies, even the great ones...

Yes No Maybe So x 4: The Mule, The Happy Prince, Mortal Engines, and Aquaman (again)

Let's get caught up on movie trailers. Clint Eastwood is dropping another December surprise, Rupert Everett reminds us that Bradley Cooper isn't the only actor stepping behind the camera, and there's always another would be franchise or two on the horizon. Four trailers after the jump starting with the Eastwood...

THE MULE

Yes - Very effective trailer opening with that car trunk mishap and the barking dog. Perhaps it's a bit vain, given that he is directing and starring, but we admire the honest of Clint only giving himself a solo title card at trailer's end despite major stars and cherished character actors supporting him (Bradley Cooper, Michael Peña, Dianne Weist, and Laurence Fishburne) since that's probably the truth of the movie. It'll live or die based on Clint's work behind and in front of the camera...

No - This isn't fair to the movie but I dont think I can take Clint Eastwood dashing lots of other people's Oscar dreams AGAIN with a sneak attack in the last two weeks of the year...

Yes No Maybe So: Captain Marvel

by Nathaniel R

Hey look, it's our first official image of Brie Larson from Damien Chazelle's First Ma---- oh, that's not right. It's Brie Larson as First Woman to lead a movie in the MCU. Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, 2019, or as we like to call it, two weeks after the Oscars and two months before Avengers Infinity War Part 2.

After the jump the first trailer and a quick Yes No Maybe So breakdown.
